There will be a prompt that will allow you to look up the number and confirm it is your skater’s information or to purchase a new one for a skater. The front desk cannot find this information for you or accept registrations at the desk because you need this number to complete the transaction.

Once you confirm your number, you can access the number again on your Daysmart account under passes and memberships. It will be stored until June 30th of each year.

This is your number for life, no matter where you take lessons, and only needs to be renewed once a year in June.

What am I Learning?

Details of what skills are taught in each class are listed below.

We want you to LOVE Ice Skating!
The curriculum is progressive beginning with level one. Please help us eliminate frustration on the first day and do not enroll in a level unless the all the skills in the  previous level have been mastered.

The Ashburn Ice House is proud to administer Learn to Skate USA®.

This curriculum is the only Learn to Skate program endorsed by USA Hockey, US Speed Skating, Special Olympics, and US Figure Skating.
Classes are organized into age specific levels and designed for any beginner to acquire the necessary skills to enjoy the sport of Ice Skating for a lifetime.

  • Our Snowplow Sam 1-4 classes are designed for our littlest skaters aged 3.5 - 6.5
  • Basic 1-6 take our Youth and Teen skaters from day one to more advanced Basic Skills.
  • The Adult curriculum is the perfect progression into any ice sport.
  • Our Hockey skating levels are for skaters who have completed either Basic 1 , Adult 1 or Snowplow Sam 2 and want to learn in hockey skates.
  • Pre-Freeskate through Freeskate 1-6 are for skater who have successfully completed Basic 6 and want to become figure skaters.

All five groups lay the foundation for FUN and entry into any other disciplines in ice skating, like playing hockey or figure skating.

Ashburn Ice House- First Day of Class Recommendations

Arrival time on the first day.
Students should arrive at least 15 minutes before class to get their skates on and prepare for class.

What to wear on the ice-

  • All students should wear a jacket, gloves, and warm clothes that allow them free movement on the ice.
  • Helmets are always recommended, especially for children six and under. We require an HECC Approved Hockey helmet with face mask for our Learn to Hockey Skate levels.
  • And the number one forgotten item? Socks! A thin pair that rises above the ankle is best to avoid feeling uncomfortable.

The Ashburn Ice House DOES NOT provide or rent:
helmets, jackets, gloves, or socks.

Please check out our Pro-Shop for these items.

Where to go when you get to the Ashburn Ice House-

  • Please proceed to the front desk for check-in.
  • If you are using our rental skates you can head to the skate rental counter to get your skates. Rental skates are full sizes only, but do run big.
  • Once you have your skates on, proceed to the designated rink to get your class assignments.

We do not give refunds. If you have any questions regarding this, please email  LTS@ashburnice.com
