Our Employees are special and so are the jobs that they do. Below are brief descriptions of the types of work available at the Ashburn Ice House.
Front Desk Sales Associate: The people behind our sales desk are the first faces our customers encounter when arriving at the Ashburn Ice House. This individual is responsible for providing sales support at the Front Desk of Ashburn Ice House. Must enjoy a fast-paced environment with a lot of exposure to people. He/she must be customer focused and very friendly. Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Skate Monitors: This individual is responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all customers participating in Public Skate, Learn to Skate, birthday parties and private parties at the Ashburn Ice House. He/she must understand all rules and responsibilities of maintaining a safe ice environment at AIH. This individual must be willing to enforce such rules and take appropriate steps to correct the situation, including asking an individual to leave the ice surface. This person must be trained on all basic first aid procedures. They must have a complete understanding of the safety standards set forth by AIH and successfully pass a test regarding these standards. He/she must be customer focused and very friendly. They must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Pro Shop Sales Associate: This individual is responsible for providing sales support at the Pro Shop of Ashburn Ice House. This person must be mature and enjoy a fast-paced environment with a lot of exposure to people. He/she must be willing to assume the role of cashier when necessary. He/she must be customer focused and very friendly. They must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Ice Resurfacer: This individual is responsible for the proper operation and basic maintenance of the ice resurfacing machines used to prepare the ice surface at Ashburn Ice House (AIH). He/she will be properly trained on the operational features of the machine. He/she will provide simple maintenance of the machines to keep them in proper working order, as well as maintain the bay areas that house the machinery. This person must be mature, a minimum of 18 years of age, in possession of a valid drivers license and have a safe driving record. They will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all locker rooms, team benches, bleachers, the mezzanine, lobby, grandstands, restrooms, game area, employee only areas, and outside spaces.
Manager on Duty: This individual is responsible for the operation of the Ashburn Ice House and supervision of all frontline employees during his or her shift. The individual is to provide leadership to other employees, crisis management during times of need, and conflict resolution to customers and employees. He or she will serve as coordinator for all functions, including Operations, Front Desk, Skate Monitors, Pro Shop, Birthday Parties, Learn to Skate, and other occasions deemed necessary. This person must be mature and excel in a fast paced environment. He or she must be highly organized, self starting, willing to delegate, and have excellent interpersonal communication skills. The individual understands that ice arenas operate 24 hours a day, and is willing to be called in an emergency situation.
